On behalf of our client, we are looking for a Test Technician to join them on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Manufacturing, Assembly, Integration and Test Manager, the role holder will be responsible for testing the portfolio of products. This will include the scheduling conducting and writing up testing activities as detailed in the test procedures.

Hours: Monday- Friday, 37.5 hrs/ week
Status: Permanent

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with our Test Engineer and MAIT team across our product portfolio to test products for mechanical and thermal sub-system and system level functionality, safety, capabilities, compliance and performance
  • Conduct electrical, RF, mechanical, thermal, thermal vacuum and vibration testing in accordance with the test protocol created by the Chief Engineering team.
  • Responsible for preparing and conducting prescribed tests
  • Assemble test setups, thermal, mechanical, RF and electronic/electrical,
  • Responsible for the safe operation of the test equipment and hardware.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of the operational procedures relevant to the test equipment
  • Compile reports on findings and the testing data that has been collected providing recommendations and advice on the data as needed
  • Maintaining and testing equipment regularly to ensure remains in good working order
  • Writing test procedures and test protocols as required by the project / MAIT teams.
  • Implement changes in test protocols as and when needed
  • Make recommendations either at a technical or procedural level to improve test processes
  • Build effective relationships with external test houses and attend suppliers to support external test needs

Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Essential

  • Demonstrative experience as test technician ideally in a regulated industry (Space, Nuclear, Aerospace, Automotive)
  • Proficient in test procedures and protocols
  • Report writing and document analysis skills
  • Knowledge of testing equipment, specifically – Thermal vacuum chambers, thermal chamber, laser scanner, tensile pull tester
  • Excellent communication skills and proficient with MS Office, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel.
  • Excellent team player with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels
  • Proactive and innovative approach to problem solving presenting findings and solutions
  • Ability to plan and organise workload across multiple projects ensuring deadlines are met
  • Quality mindset with excellent attention to detail
  • Flexible approach to working hours as there may be occasional need for out of hours working due to test schedules and monitoring of ongoing tests.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of testing equipment, specifically RF vector analyser, and data loggers (including thermocouples, accelerometers) Modal testing and photogrammetry.
