Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and driven team leader to oversee our Purchasing Department. This role is pivotal in driving vendor engagement, optimizing inventory management, maintaining annual min/max levels to support production objectives, and continuously improving processes to meet the evolving needs of our growing customer base.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead negotiations for contracts, pricing agreements, and service-level agreements (SLAs) to secure favorable terms.
  • Oversee procurement activities for aviation parts, materials, and services, ensuring cost-effectiveness, high quality, and timely delivery.
  • Manage inventory levels to minimize excess stock while ensuring operational requirements are consistently met.
  • Develop and execute a strategic supply chain plan aligned with the company’s operational goals and aviation service standards.
  • Implement initiatives to improve inventory visibility, reduce obsolescence, and enhance turnover rates.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve supply chain performance, enhance service levels, and reduce costs.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, export control laws, and industry standards in all supply chain activities.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate and enhance supply chain efficiency.
  • Lead stockroom personnel, manage cycle counts, and maintain inventory accuracy of 99% or higher.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement by leveraging methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma.
  • Mentor and develop future supply chain leaders within the organization.
  • Actively contribute to weekly Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) reviews.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • 8-10 years of progressive supply chain experience, including a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role within the aviation or aerospace industry.
  • Deep understanding of aviation regulations, materials management, and global logistics.
  • Proven expertise in vendor negotiations, contract management, and procurement strategy development.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and supply chain technologies.
  • Demonstrated success in leading teams, managing complex projects, and driving operational excellence in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
