I am seeking a Senior Project Application Engineer on a contract basis for my BMS/HVAC client in Skipton, North Yorkshire.

  • Contract initially until end of October 2023
  • £44 per hour PAYE only (inside IR35), plus holiday pay in addition
  • Mon-Fri. 40 hours per week
  • DBS check & drug screening required on all successful candidates
  • The Senior Project Application Engineer will be responsible for the technical delivery of assigned projects identifying value engineering opportunities.
  • This role requires the applicant to be fully proficient in BMS & control systems, HVAC control, integration, and applications.
  • The position requires a proactive customer driven approach, demonstrating full ownership and responsibility for implementing and completing the design of projects with the customer.
  • Responsible for assisting with the input of various key internal and external stakeholders, including ownership of any subcontract designs (e.g. Panels), they must have good communications skills and be willing to travel.
  • The Senior Project Application Engineer will work closely with the Project Manager assisting with the production and coordination of the engineering / design submittal.

This typically includes:

  • I/O data point List
  • Equipment Schedule & Schematics
  • Device / Wiring Layout Drawings
  • Functional Specifications
  • Method statements (Project Specific)
  • Development and submittal of both FAT and SAT documentation, to customer approval
  • Installation
  • Commissioning
  • Demonstration / Acceptance
  • Training Handover Documentation
  • They will also convert the above functional specification document into an operational system then complete off site testing to confirm operational effectiveness.
  • They will identify Change Control to help provide a full audit trail of all design changes in order to support the Project Manager in his Change Order Management activities.

Ideal candidate profile:

  • Proven track record in a project engineering capacity involved in the delivery of technology based projects
  • Previous exposure to a site base, construction environment
  • Fully proficient in BMS & control systems, HVAC control, integration, and applications
  • 5-8 years’ experience in control projects, with extensive on-site knowledge
  • Experience of different industry sectors
  • Willing to develop extensive product knowledge in formal training, and in “on the job” environments, working with latest company technology
  • Able to work cooperatively and provide technical direction in a team environment
  • Capacity to deliver against multiple objectives
  • Ability to identify technical solutions to customers’ business needs
  • Candidates must already hold the right to live and work in the UK at the time of application
