On behalf of our client, we are seeking to recruit a Security Contracts & Visits Support Officer on an initial 12 – month contract. As the Security Contracts & Visits Support Officer, you will be part of a small team processing requests to the MOD and dealing with day to day enquiries in relation to Security Contracts and the Visits process. In addition, you will be required to support the Security Contracts Manager in the successful implementation of the Security Contracts and Visits Strategy.
Role: Security Contracts & Visits Support Officer
Pay: Up to £26.10 per hour via umbrella
Location: Stevenage – Hybrid
Contract: Monday- Friday, 37 Hours per week, 12 months Contract
IR35 Status: Inside
Security Clearance: BPSS, SC clearable
Responsibilities
- You will be part of a highly motivated and progressive security team
- Part of a wider support mechanism that enables us to conduct our business
- Complete and record accurately all work in relation to Security Contracts and the Visits processes
- Inputting records in a timely and accurately manner to the MOD, organizing and updating security data and clearance requests and inputting data to security systems
- Supporting the wider business, Projects, Procurement and Export Control in obtaining Security Clearances
- Support the team in achieving its objectives and reducing risk to the organisation
- Be point of contact for stakeholders on Security Contracts and Visits enquiries
- Answering enquiries on security contracts and visits processes
- Liaise with UK MOD and other external agencies when appropriate
- Monitor external IT platform to obtain and update security clearances
- Monitoring Email and Post, responding to queries.
Essential Skills
- Experience of work in the Security and Defence Industry
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Customer service experience
- Excellent work ethic, motivated and enthusiastic
- Professional meticulous approach with focus on accuracy
- Ability to work as part of a team and within the wider security department
- Able to work under pressure and prioritise work as required
- IT competency, including Excel and Word and willing to learn new systems
- ‘Can do’ positive attitude
- Able to act in the strictest of confidence with Security and Contracts data – integrity is paramount
- Must be able to obtain national security vetting and BPSS
- Ability to challenge, negotiate and problem solve when required
- Willingness to learn new standards and processes to apply best practice security
