Secure Communications Project Manager

Our client has an opportunity for a Secure Communications Project Manager to join them on a contract basis for 12 months with possibility of extension.
You will be responsible for leading the delivery phase of complex military satellite communications projects and provide project initiation and planning expertise in the associated business winning campaigns.

Role: Project Manager – Secure Communications
Location: Portsmouth – 3 days onsite per week
Hours: 37 hours per week
Clearance: Active SC required on application – UKI’s required due to project
Hourly Rate: £60ph via Umbrella, inside IR35

What you’ll be doing:

• Project Initiation
• Project Planning
• Project Execution
• Project Monitoring Controlling, Closing of projects
• Delivering complex secure communications infrastructure and services.
• Managing projects in accordance with the project lifecycle standards & accountable for the quality, cost and schedule performance of the project

Requirements:
Essential
A good understanding of the PMI Project Management body of knowledge.

A basic understanding of AGILE project management.

Solid experience in a similar role of approving initial briefs/baselines, delivering projects and supporting bids in an engineering environment.

Ideally, this will be the communications, aerospace, space or defence industries

Project management in secure comms, Navel Terminals, Ground stations

Desirable
A degree or equivalent in project management, business management, or a relevant engineering discipline.

A good technical background to support your project management role
STEM degree or equivalent

PMI/PMP certification
