I am seeking a Production Supervisor (Aviation Machine Shop) to join my renowned aviation industry client based just north of Heathrow Airport, West London.
The successful candidate will be responsible for a number of MRO machine shop technicians in an extensive aviation workshop production environment.
Role: Production Supervisor
Location: Hayes, Middlesex
Shift: Mon-Fri. or Tues-Sat. One week early shift (06:00-14:00), one week late shift (14:25-22:25). Overtime may be required.
Salary: From £45,800 plus shift pay.

Main Production Supervisor responsibilities:
* Ensure health & safety for your team(s) and others onsite.
* Manage team and individual performance, always striving to meet/exceed targets.
* Be aware of the site’s COMAH responsibilities and to take appropriate actions in the
event of an incident.
* Encourage team development via the implementation of lean working principles.
* Seek progress and lead change.
* Lead by example & take responsibility for your own actions.
* Provide guidance by giving feedback on performance.
* Appreciate diversity of skills and mind-sets as a key to excellent results.
* Ensure opportunities are merited and based on excellent performance and behaviours.
* Ensure the department is optimally manned and all relevant training is completed.
* Develop a training pathway to encourage colleagues to learn new skills to greater business flexibility and career development.
* Use SMART performance metrics.
* Evaluate and implement new methodologies to ensure technological advancements are
* exploited in the workplace,
* Work with supporting departments to maximise the use of data analysis to create a culture of continuous improvement and increase performance output.
* When required lead working groups to deliver desired output.
* Work with speed and discipline.
* Think & act commercially.
Ideal candidate profile:
* HNC/HND (or equivalent) preferably in an engineering or aircraft maintenance discipline or; Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship or; Demonstrable equivalent experience leading technical teams.
* Understanding of MRO operations and processes.
* Understanding of aviation regulatory requirements (e.g. CAA/FAA/EASA).
* Evidence of people management experience within an operational, unionised environment.
* Use of proven communication skills, engaging and influencing direct reports.
* Proven experience in performance management.
* Process improvement and change management knowledge.
* Working knowledge of Health & safety Regulations
* PC literate; ability to input and manipulate data using multiple platforms (e.g. SAP, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
* Trustworthy team player with proven ability to manage, lead, and guide.
* Self-motivated with flexible approach.
* Engage others and develop their potential with confident decision-making skills.
