My client, operating in the aviation industry is looking for a:
Role: Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Basel, switzerland
Contract: permanent
Main Responsibilities
- Act as Mechanical Design Engineer designing system modification with focus on Environmental Control System (ECS) ), Supplemental Heating, Equipment Cooling, Cabin Humidification Soundproofing, Oxygen, Smoke-Detention and Water/Waste including associated modifications on aircraft internal and external primary and secondary structure and interior furnishing
- Support the Team Leader Mechanical Design Engineering in administrative and organisational tasks
- Ensure correct consideration and application of Certification Basis, Rules and Regulations, Means of Compliance and Interpretations in the engineering output for the product, system or installation designed
- Ensure adequate communication and liaison internally, especially with the Engineering Team as well as with external Third Parties
Key aspects of the activity
- Development of Mechanical Drawings (2D/3D-CAD)
- Selection of equipment, components and materials
- Preparation of technical documentation such as reports, analysis, test procedures and installation instructions
- Preparation of engineering design standards
Qualifications
- Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering or relevant
- Profound knowledge of fundamental physics, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, aerospace technology and materials – basic knowledge of acoustic is advantageous
- Proactive Teamplayer with excellent written and verbal communication skills in English – additionally French and/or German is advantageous
- Profiency in MS Office and popular 2D / 3D design software (AutoCad, CATIA)
