I am seeking a Material Control Coordinator for my client in Motherwell, North Lanarkshire.

You will carry out general store person duties, manage all materials entering the centre, ensure items are delivered as per the purchase orders and maintain a stock register of equipment.

Role: Material Control Coordinator
Location: Motherwell, Lanarkshire
Contract: 6-12 months
37.5 hours per week
Pay rate: £13.46 – £15.87 per hour PAYE, plus holiday pay in addition

Main responsibilities:

  • Receive all goods in.
  • Check all packaging for mechanical damage and advise supplier if replacements are required, initiate record and claim procedure.
  • Check items delivered concur with purchase order, request assistance where required.
  • Goods receive in purchasing system and assist with purchase order invoice queries.
  • Maintains database of all materials delivered and storage locations if utilised.
  • Advise colleagues of materials availability.
  • Maintain a log of outstanding delivery item dates and actions to resolution.
  • Ensures materials are adequately packaged and accurate paperwork is in place for despatch.
  • Packing / Unpacking and despatch.
  • Assists with movement of general equipment.
  • Load and unload vehicles in a safe manner, use mechanical aids where required. Operate counterbalance forklift truck if required.
  • Assists with transportation arrangements and coordination of movement of goods with third-party couriers.

Ideal candidate profile:

  • Stores or warehouse experience
  • Current Forklift License (RTITB approved Counterbalance certificate)
  • Competent in the use of a computer / IT skills
  • Good written & verbal communication skills
  • Candidates must already hold the right to live and work in the UK at the time of application.
