Our client has an opportunity for a Senior Scientist to join them on a contract basis. You will be undertaking cutting edge digital security research and innovation activities with the ultimate goal of developing solutions to the business’ problems for which a solution doesn’t currently exist.
Role: Senior Scientist – Industrial Control System Cyber Security Research
Location: Newport (minimum 3 days onsite)
Hours: 35 hours
Clearance: BPSS required to start
Hourly Rate: £45ph via Umbrella, inside IR35
What you’ll be doing:
Coordination:
Provide significant contributions to the transition of innovation knowledge and technologies into Airbus business and digital security operations, including training, presentations and reports.
Participate in a group-wide cyber innovation steering body.
Attend and contribute to conferences and events (business / academic).
Collaboration:
Support external digital security innovation agreements, collaborations and partnerships with specialist subject expertise and industrial / context-of-use guidance.
Provide expert services (consultancy) to the internal business on the specialist cyber subject, and as required.
Consultancy:
Contribute knowledge and advice on cyber aspects of your specialist topic to internal peers across Airbus’ business and digital security operations.
Manage onboarding and offboarding from projects for optimal use of time and resources.
Innovation:
Undertake state of the art research projects into digital security topics of interest in support of the business, in partnership with the other members of the Cyber Security Innovation team.
Maintain awareness of marketed solutions, innovation and gaps, then address gaps by developing and internally marketing prototype solutions.
Collaborate with academic partners on research, and provide industrial steering.
Contribute to academic funding bids, internally and with academic contacts.
Publish technical reports, white papers, patents, academic articles, etc.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Comp Sci, Comms & Networking, Cyber or similar.
- Recent PhD or Masters relevant to “ICS Cyber Security” within the last 5-10 years.
- Industrial Control Security experience.
- Academic research background.
- Experience of research, innovation and/or solution development.
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- Experience of research, innovation and/or solution development
