General Manager – MRO – Commercial Engines

Headquartered in Florida, as a leading global commercial aircraft engine FAA/EASA 145 approved organization, they specialize in commercial aircraft engine services. This includes repairs and overhauls of components as well as continuation of work on whole engine assets, whilst also providing niche on wing maintenance services and working around the clock with teams operating 24/7. This organization is part of a family of a unique global aerospace engineering group, who’s history spans over 40+ years. The company is expanding quickly and they are seeking fresh leadership.

Summary:

They are looking to employ a General Manager within MRO, who has exceptional experience with commercial aircraft engines across industry and who knows how a EASA/FAA 145 organization works and operates and has experience leading within a 145 approved station. This candidate will provide key leadership and have the freedom to add ideas and make a difference to their MRO operations on a domestic and global scale.

Job Requirements:

  • Provide oversight and leadership of the daily operations within the EASA/FAA 145 organization, keeping in line with global regulatory body safety and quality standards and implementing new ideas.
  • Creating business plans which strive to increase revenue, whilst decreasing operational costs and improving profits. This includes financial strategy oversight, reviewing financial on a regular basis, ensuring all operations are in line with budgets and keep profits high.
  • Managing and leading from the front, providing support to all key staff across the business, from technicians to supervisors, to sales and procurement.
  • Create reporting measure and scopes to keep track of the organizations performances and reviewing any areas that require improvement, taking necessary action where necessary.
  • Creating key relationships internally and externally with sales teams, purchasing teams, technicians, supervisors, as well as customers, which includes airlines, brokers and OEMs, and of course, global regulatory bodies, FAA/EASA. Whilst keeping an eye for new business.
  • Working closely with the Quality teams to ensure all processes are strictly adhered to in line with internal and regulatory quality and safety requirements. It is also expected of the General Manager to introduce quality systems when non-conformance’s are found.
  • Keeping relevant with industry trends.
  • Ensuring they are there to provide technical input where necessary using their experience with commercial aircraft engines.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in aviation management, Engineering, and/or MBA.
  • Experience: 10+ years in commercial aviation, 4+ years in a management/leading role in EASA/FAA 145 repair vendor.
  • Technical Expertise: Expertise on commercial aircraft engines from their operations to their maintenance and engineering requirements, the candidate must have experience on the following engine types CFM56 , V2500 , CF34 , CF6-80 , and PW4000. LEAP 1A/1B and the GTF Series is a plus.
  • Regulations: Strong understanding of EASA/FAA regulations, Part 145 etc.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
  • Problem Solving and Decision Making: Proven skill sets in enabling the analysis of complex issues.
  • Financial Acumen: Proven experience of budgeting, keeping operational costs low whilst increasing profits. Ability to provide reporting and analysis on the aforementioned.
