Our client has an opportunity for a Finance Specialist to join them on a permanent basis. You will be at the heart of the mission, ensuring the precision of month-end deliveries and upholding the financial integrity that aligns with the company’s ambitious vision.

Role: Financial Specialist
Location: Glasgow – Agile working
Salary: Discussed upon application
Hours: Monday – Friday between the hours of 8.30 and 17.30

What you’ll be doing:

  • To ensure delivery of month-end and provide support to Business colleagues whilst maintaining financial rigour and control around key processes through the balance sheet insight and review
  • To provide specialist support and expert advice to the business on the application and interpretation of Company policy and processes; in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLA’s)
  • To ensure all processes and controls are updated and followed
  • To contribute to core business drivers through the Balanced Business Scorecard (BBSC) framework and operational performance mechanisms.
  • To contribute to the timely data capture of BSC operational performance measurements to validate operational efficiency and effectiveness
  • To support the implementation of continuous improvement opportunities to enhance operational performance standards
  • Preparing, posting and reviewing of manual journals within the ledger
  • Commentary on Monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations, identifying trends and providing reporting to key business stakeholders
  • Understanding the drivers of manual journals and utilising this to identify process improvements

Requirements:

  • Finance background is essential
  • Attention to detail is essential
  • High numeracy and strong analytical skills
  • Ability to review and provide insightful commentary on P&L and balance sheet reconciliations and deliver month-end reporting to stakeholders
  • Curiosity and the drive to question processes to become more efficient
  • Experience with performance frameworks like the Balanced Business Scorecard to contribute to operational efficiency and effectiveness
  • Flexibility and self-motivation, with ability to work on own initiative and without close supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to communicate effectively at all levels of stakeholders both written and verbally
  • Strong organisational skills, with ability to plan, prioritise and work to deadlines
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced changing environment
