I am seeking a Environmental, Health & Safety Advisor to join my renowned aviation industry client based in Hayes, West London.
As the Environmental, Health & Safety Advisor you will work within the Quality Team to develop and support primarily the Health & Safety function of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) for the company.
Role: Environmental, Health & Safety Advisor
Location: Hayes, Middlesex
Shift: Mon-Fri, 08:00 – 17:00 – 40 hours per week
Salary: Up to £43,075.46
Responsibilities:
- Interacting with all departmental managers to ensure that the company remains EHS compliant.
- Controlling the completion of Risk Assessment and completing of Control of Substances Harmful to Health (COSHH) Assessments.
- Accident reporting and investigation, including KPI reporting to Product Division.
- Auditing to ISO14001 and 45001 to maintain Approval.
- To create EHS policies for the business in line with UK Law and company requirements.
- To deliver targets for health & safety implementation and compliance.
- To develop and introduce Safety Team from cross functions of the business.
- To assess new substances including set up and maintaining REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation & restriction of Chemicals) requirement.
- To control Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Standards and ensure we are compliant with the correct standard.
- To advise on EHS training and develop with the colleagues responsible for training.
- To develop and maintain a control plan for monitoring of requirement for EHS testing for the business.
- To support Human Resources where required on occupational health requirements.
- To conduct regular meetings with first aiders and be their point of reference for support.
- To support the Quality Team in aspects of their work, this could include update of company procedures.
- To be able to deputise where required for the Security Manager.
- To perform tasks within their capability to meet the needs of the company.
Requirements & Education
- Preferable to have EHS background with knowledge of aviation.
- Educated to a degree level (Engineering/Chemistry or relevant to required knowledge) or experience in similar role coupled with secondary education (A Levels) or BTECH/HNC (Desirable).
- NEBOSH Diploma level or IOSH Certificate/Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Recognised Auditing qualification with experience in 14001 or 45001 preferred.
- Excellent administration and coordination skills.
- Experience completing Risk Assessments, Audits and reviewing Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) Sheets.
- Ability to manage and work within a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to develop positive, productive and collaborative working relationships with a wide variety of partners
- Ability to produce timely and accurate reports.
- Candidates must already hold the right to live and work in the UK at the time of application
