My client is looking for an Electrical Engineer with E3 design to join on them on a 6 month contract. As an Electrical Engineer with E3 design, you will be responsible for Working within the Secure Communications Products, Responsible Engineer for the conceptual designs of maritime terminal equipment racks and associated electrical equipment and elements. This includes generating design calculations, drawings, safety analysis for testing i.a.w BS EN62368-1 and supporting design documentation in line with all quality and technical standards.
Role: Electrical Engineer with E3 Design
Pay: £45.00 per hour via Umbrella (Inside IR35)
Location: Portsmouth
Contract: 6 months
Hours: 37 hours per week Monday – Friday (3 days on site 2 days WFH)
Security Clearance: BPSS to start, ability to gain SC Clearance

Job Profile
Electrical Design Engineer responsible for the electrical design of maritime equipment racks and products.

Prepare specifications, develop designs in line with specifications and all quality and technical standards, and carry out design appraisals in assigned areas to ensure all standards are maintained.

Act as main point of contact with customers and/or suppliers in assigned areas on engineering matters, to resolve relatively complex problems and issues and to maintain awareness in both parties of priorities and objectives.

Make engineering decisions within own sphere of responsibility and delegated authority.

Terminal and Products Design Team, Installation Design Team, Terminal Software Engineering, Remote Terminals Engineering

Skills/Experience Required
Essential –

  • Experience in engineering in a defence related industry,
  • Zuken E3 Cable
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of the fundamentals within current discipline
  • Recognised and consulted as one of the experts within at least one domain or for possessing deep knowledge of several domains within current discipline.

Desirable –

  • Knowledge of designing for ship installations.
  • Strong people skills
  • Experience of power and looming solutions for equipment and racks.
  • Requirements management in DOORS

Education & Training
Essential – Strong experience in a similar role

  • Degree level qualification in relevant subject area,
  • Mid-career circa at least 10 years experience of electrical engineering.
  • Zuken E3 Cable and Database Training.

Desirable – Understanding of the Low Voltage Directive requirements and the achievement of compliance to BS EN 62368.
