On behalf of our client, we are seeking to recruit a Director of Private Jets to join them on a permanent basis. This role demands a highly strategic leader with deep industry knowledge who can ensure superior client experience, operational excellence, and profitability. The Director will collaborate with multiple departments, manage relationships with ultra-high-net-worth clients, and ensure compliance with aviation regulations.
Role: Director of Private Jets
Salary: Competitive (Discussed Upon Application)
Location: Central London, UK
Hours: Full-time, 3 – 4 days in the office, standard 9am – 5pm (flexible)
Key responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute the overall business strategy for the private jet division.
- Monitor industry trends and implement initiatives to maintain a competitive edge.
- Create and manage financial plans, including budgeting, forecasting, and P&L accountability.
Operations Management
- Oversee daily operations of booked flights within the team.
- Ensure all aircraft maintenance, safety checks, and compliance with FAA/EASA or equivalent regulations.
- Manage vendor relationships, including aircraft operators, ground handling FBOs and other service suppliers.
Client Relations & Business Development
- Build and nurture relationships with UHNWI clients, providing customised service and solutions to meet their travel needs.
- Lead business development efforts, identifying new opportunities for growth and partnerships.
- Ensure exceptional customer service throughout the booking, flight, and post-flight processes.
Team Leadership
- Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing sales team.
- Foster a positive and safety-first culture, ensuring staff are aligned with company values and standards.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives across the division.
Essential experience:
- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in private aviation or luxury travel, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.
- Demonstrated experience managing a team of sales staff.
- Proven track record in business development and client relations in the aviation industry.
Skills required:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Deep understanding of aviation regulations, fleet management, and operational efficiency.
- Excellent client relationship skills, with the ability to work with high-net-worth individuals.
- Financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management.
- Ability to handle pressure, solve problems, and make critical decisions in a high-stakes environment.
- Must hold a full UK driver’s license, and have the ability to work within the UK
