Director of Operations – Multinational Aircraft MRO
Position Overview

As the Director of Operations for a leading multinational aircraft Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) organization, you’ll lead the charge in delivering world-class products and services while exceeding customer expectations.
Your mission: to lead, inspire, and optimize teams, resources, and systems to deliver on both strategic and annual goals. You’ll champion continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and talent development-all while maintaining a culture of innovation, collaboration, and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Oversee multiple sites, ensuring capabilities and performance meet customer demands.
- Safety Culture: Foster an unwavering commitment to safety, ensuring all staff uphold the highest manufacturing and safety standards.
- Strategic Vision: Align operational goals with business strategy. Collaborate across functions to evolve processes, meet KPIs, and implement effective Shop Floor Management Systems (SFM).
- Performance Management: Establish and monitor KPIs, leveraging data analysis and visual management to track trends and achieve results.
- Team Empowerment: Build a high-performing team through hiring, coaching, training, and succession planning. Provide clear objectives and actionable feedback.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives, optimize processes, and reduce costs while maintaining quality and on-time delivery.
- Resource Planning: Develop robust labor capacity models and material plans to meet sales forecasts while balancing flexibility, costs, and inventory.
- Fiscal Accountability: Manage budgets, schedules, and metrics to ensure financial health and operational excellence.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain high standards of manufacturing to meet and exceed customer and company expectations.
- Program Management: Lead initiatives such as plant layout changes, capital equipment installations, and process improvements with strong risk management and prioritization.
What You’ll Bring
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (engineering or related field preferred).
- Experience: 5+ years of progressive leadership in operations or related roles, with a proven track record in safety, quality, and productivity in complex, high-stakes environments.
- Aviation Edge: Experience in aviation services is advantageous, though not mandatory.
- Technical Expertise: Strong ERP/MRP planning and scheduling skills, with experience in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma (certifications preferred).
- Leadership Excellence: Proven ability to inspire, empower, and develop high-performing teams in a collaborative, customer-focused environment.
- Results-Oriented: Demonstrated success in achieving operational goals, managing multi-site operations, and optimizing manufacturing technologies and processes.
- Certifications: FAA Airframe License (Certified under FAA Part 65) is required.
