An opportunity has arisen with my client for a Component Engineer- Obsolescence to join them on a 6-month contract which can be extended. The component engineering department play an important support role not just within the engineering group but within my clients wider business. Obsolescence within the department is an ever-increasing challenge with new technical projects required. You will help deliver a comprehensive obsolescence service to meet processing targets and strategize work packages to improve internal customer delivery.

Role: Component Engineer- Obsolescence
Pay: £50.00 per hour via Umbrella
Location: Stevenage or Bolton
Contract: 6 Months – can be extended
Hours: Monday – Friday, 37 hours per week 1-2 day onsite per week.
Security Clearance: Security Clearance required.

Responsibilities:

  • Processing reactive component obsolescence notifications
  • Prioritise and monitor obsolescence requests
  • Processing component data (based on Life cycle status, Export Control and REACH/RoHS compliance)
  • Commodity support for Electronic, Electrical, Mechanical or Material components
  • Develop continuous improvement activities and utilise industry standard methods

Skills/Experience

  • Knowledge and experience of components and parts
  • Engineering Degree or relevant experience
  • Knowledge and experience of engineering disciplines
  • High concern for order and quality
  • Dealing with obsolescence database, Export Control and REACH/RoHS would be an advantage
