Job Description:

The Production Planner will play a critical role in scheduling and managing engine repair processes to meet company objectives and exceed customer expectations. This position requires close collaboration with various departments, including Inventory, Machine Shop, Inspection, Purchasing, Outside Service, Assembly/Disassembly, and Quality, to ensure all aspects of Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) are effectively coordinated. Reporting to the Production Control Manager, the key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Reviewing work scopes in detail to understand the extent of repairs and customer deliverables.
  • Coordinating with Purchasing, Outside Services, and support shops to ensure all material requirements are identified, ordered, and processed according to daily priorities.
  • Ensuring internal and external repair work orders are in place and prioritizing tasks on the production floor to meet all deadlines.
  • Collaborating with department supervisors to allocate resources effectively and complete tasks on time.
  • Staging engine modules for assembly based on daily and weekly priorities.
  • Distributing weekly progress reports and discrepancy reports.
  • Participating in production, induction, and gate meetings, and following up on induction processes.
  • Developing work-around plans to manage surge capacity and meet expedited delivery demands.
  • Verifying that all parts, materials, and tooling are available to perform planned tasks, including checks for scrap and repairable parts.
  • Following procedures and regulations to ensure compliance with FAA and other quality standards.
  • Making recommendations to management on process improvements.
  • Working closely with mechanics, including lead mechanics, to set and meet delivery expectations for module disassembly and assembly.

Qualifications (minimum knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies include but are not limited to):

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Production Planner or Coordinator.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Experience in the MRO Aviation industry, particularly with the CFM56 engine family.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Quantum component control aviation software.
  • Business proficiency in Spanish.
  • Advanced knowledge of Quantum and the ability to effectively utilize systems.
