Our client has a unique opportunity for an Airspace & Air Traffic Management Change Lead to join them on a permanent basis. As the Airspace & Air Traffic Management Change Lead you will support the Airspace & Air Traffic Management Change Manager through providing support for relevant projects as well as the strategic development work associated with future changes to Airspace and Air Traffic Management areas of the operation

Location: South of England/ Hybrid
Hours: Monday – Friday , 40 hours per week

Responsibilities
- Support the Airspace & ATM Change Manager in developing strategy and deployment options for necessary airspace or ATM related changes in support of the teams and wider business objectives.
- Lead and progress the workstreams required to progress airspace or ATM change into operation, meeting the business and relevant regulatory requirements including CAP1616.
- Represent projects in a range of community and stakeholder meetings to support the Airports objectives for Airspace and/or ATM.
- Own and continuously develop parts of the teams QMS and associated processes and record keeping ensuring clear documentation and traceability for key activities for the Airspace Change & ATM team, for activities governed by regulation or legislation.
- Analyze and interpret data relevant to ATM, airspace, and performance either directly or provided from other areas of the business and provide insight and recommendations for improvements or changes to operations to support team and business objectives.
- Work with others to review, summarize and interpret proposed external changes to processes, regulation, or legislation for impact to Airspace or ATC operation, and propose associated benefits, risks, and recommendations.
Requirements
Essential:
- Good working knowledge of UK Airspace and Air Traffic Control with specific understanding of the London TMA, flow management and associated procedures, and their relationship with the airport performance.
- Experience working on, developing, leading, or managing change projects including influencing the work of others either as peers, suppliers, or direct reports.
- High level knowledge of the UK aviation policy, legislation, and regulation framework and the relationship to airspace, with detailed knowledge of the UK process and requirements for airspace change
- Sound understanding of factors that influence and contribute to aircraft flight performance, including performance with respect to, punctuality, resilience, slot performance, noise, and carbon emissions from flight.
- Strong problem analysis and solution development skills, preferably with direct experience analysing and interpreting either Noise, Airspace and/or air traffic performance.
- Knowledge of future airspace and air traffic concepts, and their potential benefits for the airport
- Working level understanding of the Heathrow relationship with UK ATC including NATS NERL and NSL.
- Excellent communication, engagement, and presentation skills at all levels including the ability to communicate complex technical information to non-expert audiences.
- Good organisational and time management skills with careful attention to detail
- Proven ability to work well under pressure whilst maintaining accuracy and high standards in the delivery of timely outputs
